Rebuilt Landmaco Pipe and Nipple Machine

In assisting a client that contacted Rebuilders Unlimited, Inc. inquiring about the purchase of a manually operated pipe nipple threading machine with a 1" to 2" diameter capacity, our staff perfectly exhibited their versatility and creativity in meeting the client's needs, as well as their expertise in rebuilding these machines. At the time of the inquiry, we did not have a used 2" manually operated machine in stock to rebuild. We did, however, have a large inventory of automatic nipple machine carcasses. Our skilled team of assembly technicians and engineers, thinking outside the box, decided that we could easily build a productive manually operated machine using one of those carcasses.

We inspected, rebuilt, and replaced all components from headstock bearings and seals, to all components for die heads and die head chaser holders. Die head yoke screws, trip rod, nuts, knobs, and pivot pins were all replaced, and carriages were re-machined and precision scraped to newly reground bed ways. We also installed new air operated vises, as well as a new carriage operating bar and arms for lever operated carriage traverse.

Testing was carried out by running off our client's test pieces, and the finished machine was painted and delivered to our Maryland client for use in Fire Sprinkler Pipe fabrication. The customer was so impressed by this new machine that he has purchased several more since, and we have also sold this style of machine to several other companies in the U.S. Our employees' ingenuity opened up new opportunities for us, but more importantly, we were able to meet a customer's need when we otherwise might not have been able to.
